The Axolotl is a Tier 5 Pet, available in the Puppy Pack. When a friendly pet gains a perk, the friend will permanently receive a stat increase. Levelling the Axolotl increases the stats given.

Strategy

Axolotl is weak compared to other tier 5 scalers like Poodle or Siberian Husky, since without perk giver pets, like Toucan and Turtle, or food pets like Squirrel and Sauropod, it demands 3 gold for a +1/+1 buff, and for it to buff the same pet twice would also mean replacing the perk, wasting it.

However, their buff being permanent give a lot of potential value when paired with the right pets. A high level Toucan can re pass perks gave to it by higher tier perk givers like Tahr and Snapping Turtle, that paired with Axolotl can buff all team. Self perk gainers like Racoon and Reindeer also work great, especially Ox, that with the right summon synergy can trigger Axolotl buff three or more times per battle, allowing it to reach really high stats very quickly.
