The Axehandle Hound is a Tier 1 Pet, available in the Unicorn Pack. At the start of battle, if the enemy owns multiple copies of a pet, the Axehandle Hound will deal massive damage to one of the copies. Levelling the Axehandle Hound increases the damage it does.

Strategy

When paired with pets that turn enemies to rock, like having a Cockatrice and a front Basilisk, the rocks count as the same pet and the Axehandle Hound will target them.
