Bacon
The Bacon is a 
Tier 1 Food, available in 
Custom Packs and sometimes available in the 
Weekly Pack. When a pet is fed a Bacon, it receives +2 
attack.
It can be seen as an alternative to the 
Apple and 
Peach in that they all give +2 total stats.
Strategy
Bacon is a potent food for the early game. One way to use it is to balance out the stats of a pet with 1 attack. It can give a pet with very low offenses that little boost in offense it needs to stay relevant into the next shop tier.
An example of where it would be useful is giving a 1/3 cricket bacon on turn 2. This would provide the pet with a stat line capable of taking out at least one opponent and letting the zombie cricket wear down the next pet.
Another example could be giving a swan more attack to justify its place on a team until you can begin scaling with the extra gold they provide.
In later rounds and shop tiers bacon falls off in effectiveness, and generally will only be used when more impactful scaling food isn't available.
